Things are busy here from about 8AM (as it gets hotter, we'll have to get up earlier!) until 10PM. Granted, the last few hours of each day are spent cooking, eating and cleaning up dinner as a family. Honestly the community aspect of farm life is what makes it so enjoyable, for me. It feels good to do the work and benefit from it together. I'll probably talk about that a lot. But anyway, a few nights ago Diana let my sister, Leah (Jeff's daughter), and me help her cut some honey comb off of the frames! So some nights we do beekeeping activities, led by Diana, and it's really interesting. Like last night she told me that honey bees are mostly all female! A few drones (males) are only needed to produce eggs and especially a queen. Otherwise, the females are doing all the hard work, producing that delicious golden honey. Pretty cool.
